Sonia Hudson is a senior at the University of Florida. During her time as an undergraduate student, she has remained an active member of the university's chapter of the Food Science and Human Nutrition Club, holding the positions of Vice President of Food Science, Product Development Team Leader and Secretary. Sonia also is a member of the Florida Association of Food Protection. She completed a summer internship in the Research and Development Department at Chiquita Brands International and intends to pursue a master's degree in Food Science.
"The scholarship has helped fund my graduate school application expenses and textbooks for the semester. I'm saving the additional money for my travel expenses for the Institute of Food Technologists Annual Meeting and Food Expo this summer."
